Character stuck, Escape option does nothing.

I was jumping around in the beginner area as I fell off the map.

Character  stuck in falling position in mid-air and nothing else. If I double press w camera zooms out and animation starts playing. 

I tried the escape option several times, but as I press the button, nothing happens.

Relogging does not solve this. This is immensely annoying, help much appreciated.

I have the exact same problem and submitted a ticket - I am worried that it's been 24 hours and it doesn't look like this has been resolved.
