You don't need to rename it to anything specific, just rename it in general so when GG looks for the files it has to redownload or has them pre-installed.

 

Tried everything mentioned here btw and nothing has worked either. I'm starting to think it's the type of internet my college has.

I know (through Destiny) my campus uses a NAT 2 type internet storage, which can cause connection issues with some games. Perhaps yours has something similar, which is causing a connection loss to GG. Just pulling at straws here, and I have no idea how to fix that without messing with the wireless of my entire campus.

Try these:
1- Disable your firewall.
2- Disable your Anti-Virus.

3- Run the game as Administrator.

4- Run the game in a compatibility with Windows 8.1, 7 or XP (SP2 or 3).

5- Follow the steps in this link: https://support.bladeandsoul.com/hc/en-us/articles/205790243-MSCONFIG
6- Try to connect through a Ethernet Cable instead or Wireless connection.
7- Launch the game from the shortcut on your desktop instead of the NCLauncher.exe in the game directory.
8- Download and install this program: http://www.mediafire.com/download/97erhoox4d3zabq/aio210.zip (couldn't download it from Opera, use another browser).
9- Check if your drivers are updated.
