Amplifying a weapon?

Playing a Blade Dancer, I have a Hongmoon Lyndblade, later got a Stalker Lyndblade. When checking the weapon management, it seems I can use the Stalker one as an amplifier on the Hongmoon weapon. Do you just amplify anything with anything, or is there some system/method on how to do it correctly? Like should only certain things be used to amplify certain other things in order to get a specific combination? Is there a guide somewhere that explains it?

You should always use your Hongmoon weapon and use all other obtained weapons as amplifications, except for some purples. Some specific weapons you need to breakthrough your weapon level and change phases. So be careful on what items you use. You can tell which items are for Breakthroughs by placing your mouse over the item. It'll say it in the item description.
