Can not accept/Decline friends Request

Logged in today and added someone to my friends list. Apparently they also attempted to add me as a friend. At the moment the "You have a new Friend request" pop up will not go away, When I click on it I get the "Accept Name's Friend Request?" Accept or Decline window, but clicking on any of the buttons will not dismiss the notification. The person the request is for is already on my friends list, because I sent them a friends request first.
