    Hah you did this too, calm - polite and plenty of info in the tickets, jumping through all their hops, and the same crappy copy pasta responses ending in "we can't do anything, but you could try the forums". I wish someone would rent a decent box to host the game; making it actually worth playing again, NCSoft cleary don't seem interested in fixing theirs. Edit: LOL I just noticed that : "We are on top of this issue and we have also received multiple reports similar to your issue. We will be posting updates on our forums regarding this so we suggest that you keep an eye out on our forums." was the response I got 2 months ago Compared to your: "We may not be able to provide you an update(s) on progress with this issue." followed by the slightly contradictory: "We will surely let our players know if ever we have new information regarding this." if ever....

    Not defending macro users so don't take this the wrong way. But it is literally impossible to learn consistent timings with such a constantly-heavily fluctuating ping. I used the SS macro until I heard on one of the streams it wasn't allowed, at which point I bought a mech keyboard which helped a bit, but there are still occasions my chars will just move back in small steps when mashing SS.

    After pingplotting lots of different Germany based servers, hosting games from various genres, I have been unable to find any that performs as (consistently) crap as these Blade and Soul servers. There's a 20 page thread started in 2014 from Wildstar and countless other similar threads. Blade and Soul and Wildstar are sharing the same toaster as they were pinging the same target. Sounds familiar? They've hosted several games from the same data center plagued with the same issues for years. I highly doubt this will ever be fixed.

    DayZ, arguably one of the most broken PoS games ever, in Alpha; has more stable servers. Here's a relatively cheap to rent, full, 50 man server, hosted in Frankfurt: 44ms max over 10 mins.
  13. Wasted enough money on the game, not willing to pay for a service that isn't honest (free trial should sell me the product, not put me off it). I don't have any problem relating to Dynamic IP.

    EU: NA: Same spikes but much less frequent.
  15. Tried it, the only thing it succeeded in doing was increase base latency by ~20ms and mask the spikes within it's UI output, but they were still there.
  16. Providing info in the hopes they fix it is not negative, attitudes tends to sway that way when you're told they can't do anything (support) and to post in the forums.

    World and IRC servers are in Frankfurt for EU (but still often lag like we are connecting to Taiwan). Login and database for both characters and marketplace are in Texas for both EU and NA (notice the consistent delay when accessing F2 or F5).
  18. Half the problem I think is the playerbase, look at how many replies something like bigger boobs or outfit threads get compared to stuff that really matters. I bet half them play the game as "fashion simulator" or too busy fapping to notice lag. :D

    It's fun and all but the servers are crap and with such little play time you will really slowly progress once you hit the 45+ grind machine.

  22. On Virgin fixed/static IP's are only available to business customers. I'm unsure of the lease time on mine (had same IP for months) but even after a reboot of the modem it still assigns the same IP. So while it technically has a dynamic assignment, it is fairly "sticky".

    I understand you may only be trying to help but.... Which has nothing to do with this thread but hey, again what you describe sounds more like an IP conflict which will adversely effect any/all devices trying to use that IP. Not the problem OP or others, myself included; are having. That only affect NCSoft servers? give me a break. I too am on 200+ fiber and have tested my connection thoroughly all while running a broadband quality monitor. I've run pingplotter traces to many gameservers hosted in Germany and the only one that lags is NCSofts. This is not the problem, while it still sucks, it isn't causing lag on the Frankfurt servers. In beta many thought it just to be temporary and that EU would have it's own complete infrastructure come launch, but they will not change it, far too tight for that.

    What you describe sounds like an IP conflict, but it's hard to tell your point from such vague info. The only way an address "might not be compatible with the server" is at login/authentication. If it's within a range of banned IP's for example under region block, or it detects a different address from your previous login; in which case you wouldn't be allowed to connect. It isn't causing this 30ms one second and 200-400+ms the next scenario.

    Yes, users can ignore those odd few packets lost on random hops so long as it doesn't carry through to the destination. I pondered about the bots causing the lag, not so much the irc spam but I'd imagine multi-boxed clients have the potential to impact server performance. Been there, done that, did not buy the T-Shirt: They only acknowledged a problem once I'd informed them that even PingPlotter support had stated it was ncsoft server that was lagging; at which point they brazenly were like "oh that, yeah we know about that and it's being looked into, check the forums for updates!". They must mean updates from more disgruntled players being taken for fools? as there sure as hell isn't any other kind of input on this.
