  1. There's a small bit of bad information in these posts. There is more than just 1 legendary weapon. There are weapons that come from a box dropped by dungeons, these go for extreme amounts of gold (100k for the best one in KR, if I recall correctly). Furthermore, something carried through all regions, albeit in different forms, is how legendary weapons upgrade. Legendary weapons all have 12 stages. Each one of these stages has a transform cost. Every stage. To get an idea of the cost, look at the transform cost to stage 1, should give you a good idea. In every region, these transforms can fail. They consume all of the materials when they do. What differs among regions is what happens when these fail. For China you simply farm up the materials and try again. Everywhere else, however, the weapon dies and can no longer be upgraded. There is no way to revive the weapon. In China, there exists a cash shop item that guarantees success in these evolves. As a side note, there is nothing special about our HM weapon become a legendary after true scorpio. That's exactly the same way it worked in all other regions until the patch came that killed the HM weapon line. At that point HM weapons are no longer obtainable. TL;DR: Assuming we follow every other region, legendary weapon upgrades can fail and there will be more powerful legendary weapons added as RNG from bosses in end-game content. There may or may not be a cash shop item introduced that guarantees success of legendary weapon upgrades.
  2. I'd say that the vast majority of hackers are bot accounts. Unless these bots have been scripted to enter the tournament, I don't think we'll be seeing too many in the tournament. I am curious, however, as to why NCSoft, and a lot of other gaming companies for that matter, bother to keep things like GameGuard around. It's very obvious that it isn't doing anything. Speed hackers still run rampant in Soulstone Plains and Misty Woods. Summoner hackers are very obviously still a thing given that I can literally press F11 and find that 4 of the top 10 ranked PvP'ers are actually summoner hackers. The only effect I see from GameGuard is that my FPS goes down the drain in a rhythmic fashion. I wonder if NCSoft actually pays for GameGuard, seems like a waste of money to me.
  3. Low FPS/Stutter Fix (Nvidia)

Seems I got it backwards. That's strange, though. Now I have no idea why AMD would be seeing better performance than Intel processors. Unless, for whatever reason, the multi-threading is set up to work correctly with AMD processors and not Intel processors.
  4. Low FPS/Stutter Fix (Nvidia)

I'm fairly sure the stutters aren't caused by the GPU but by a bottleneck at the CPU. My fps only stutters down when surrounded by a large number of players/NPCs (the unreal engine treats processing of players the same as NPCs). This is processed by the CPU by the Unreal Engine. Furthermore, my fps has never stuttered down due to my GPU reaching capacity. Max settings @ 60FPS works my GPU to 90%. During stutters, my GPU's utilization drops down significantly, sometimes to 0%. The client seems to spawn about 90 threads during runtime. The number varies slightly but it typically hovers around 90. So we know that BnS is multi-threaded. However, when I watch my CPU's utilization, only core 0 (first core) is utilized 100%. The rest of my cores are hardly used while running BnS. All of my cores are unparked. It is very likely that most people's GPUs are good enough to run max settings, this game is 4~6 years old after all. It is also very likely that people's CPUs are good enough too. What this looks like, to me, is a case of poorly done parallelism. I don't know how NCSoft distributes the workload across the cores of a CPU but just looking at my utilization I'd say that 70~80% is being forced onto just 1 core. Computers have multiple cores for a reason, and it's not to look pretty. 5. If other regions of the game are any indication then frozen venom darts won't go down in price. Assuming our version continues to have the same dart requirements as BnS KR/JP then you will always need increasing amounts of them. There will always be an extremely high demand for them so long as people are still upgrading gear. Currently nothing requires maxed gear. This is true. The next wave of content can probably still be done with a true pirate weapon. The stat requirements for the next wave of content is: 15% piercing, 120% accuracy. Those stats are just to guarantee that you do the maximum damage your other stats allow. Point is, however, that beyond that, true pirate probably won't be enough anymore. If the majority of the playerbase can't afford to upgrade now, I doubt they'll be able to afford upgrading later. As a fun fact, to fully upgrade to our current max upgrades you need 1510 Frozen Venom Darts.
  6. I can see so much friendship in this post. On a more serious note. Yes, BnS is more geared towards a hardcore audience. It was not made for a casual playerbase. The only issue is with the prices theses upgrades are currently at, I'd estimate that only 5~10% of the player-base is going to be able to keep up with content. Yes, those are the elites. Yes, those people earned (though some bought) their way there. None of that matters if this phases out the remaining 90% of the playerbase over the next year. Ultimately it's NCWest's decision to make. If they leave it like this then I'll sit down and grind out my gear slowly. I'll probably never achieve BiS unless my statics get really lucky with drops but that's fine. The grind is part of this game. I'd just be pretty bummed if a game I've waited 6 years for died because NCWest didn't want to adjust it to fit NA's demand.
  7. Making 40G a day, it would take your friend ~146 days to achieve current max gear (not including soul) assuming he's already at true pirate wep + true siren acc. Keep in mind that there is a lot more gear higher than what is currently available and that we probably have a lot less than 146 days before the next content hits
  8. If you're going to allude to my spreadsheet then you should probably read it. I update the unit costs on the spreadsheet at least once a day. Furthermore, it doesn't exist to give you a real-time cost but an idea of the cost. It's meant to show that that is a cost of 6k gold, either in liquid or equity, to go from true pirate wep & true siren acc to fully upgraded. I agree that prices on most things has dropped. In fact, prices on literally everything except Frozen Venom Darts and Silverfrost Frost has dropped noticeably since 50 hit. Frozen Venom Darts, however, seem to have decided to hold strong at 2-2.3G each on NA. These are, by far, the biggest contributor to the high prices. Assuming you don't buy tablets, the darts make up nearly 62% of the cost by themselves. Meanwhile, if you look at BnS CN you'll find that they need just over 10% the amount of darts we do for upgrading. If we estimate that at 15% our dart requirement that would shave ~52.5% off of the cost which would put the upgrade cost at a more achievable cost of roughly 3k. Is that still a lot? Sure. However, it's significantly more achievable. I'd even go so far as to say it's significantly more reasonable given the rate NCWest seems to think we need content. If we had 6 months in this current content I would be completely fine with the current prices. I just highly doubt NCWest will give us that much time. We probably have a couple weeks more before the next content hits.
  9. For people that want to know that cost of upgrading: spreadsheet. That shows the cost with and without buying naryu tablets. Given the amount of reasonable gold generation in the game, no casual player is achieving that before next patch hits. In fact, only the most hardcore players or those that had a lot of money going into 50 or those that have a lot of irl money will have it going into the next content. That's given the rate of content we've seen so far.
  10. State of the game curently

spreadsheet Upgrades are currently unreasonably expensive. We simply don't have the gold generation. Not buying naryu tablets, it costs just under 6k to reach max upgrades. This assumes you're already at true pirate wep & true siren acc. This also doesn't include the soul upgrade path. Updated cost and spreadsheet. Found an error in the cost that assumes no naryu tablet purchases.
  11. Upgrade Costs

This is meant to be more of an informative post than a rant post. I will start by saying that I am not max gear as far as this current patch is concerned. I also discovered I won't be after seeing these numbers. Upgrade Cost Spreadsheet That spread sheet details the cost, assuming you bought the materials at current market rates, to go from true pirate wep/true siren acc (+awakened siren belt & pirate bracelet) to the current max level. The unit cost on things isn't maintained in real time but it gets the point across. It should be noted that it does not have the cost for upgrading the soul all the way. A rough estimate of what it takes to fully upgrade you wep+acc (not including soul) if you are not premium AND farm the naryu tablets is: 6,800 G. IF you do buy the naryu tablets, that number becomes 9,700 G. Assuming you make 42G a day off of dailies and religiously crafting silverfrost stones (30.25G is max you can make from dailies, add in 12G from net profit on stones) it would take you ~162 days to fully upgrade. At the rate NCSoft is rushing us through patches, you don't have that long before new content comes out. As I said, this is more of an informative post to get the truth behind upgrade costs out there as some people seem to think dailies brings in enough income to fully upgrade. They do. After ~162 days. If someone from NCSoft sees this I hope they can bring it up to someone as it was my belief that legendary weapons were kept out of the game because there wasn't enough gold generation in the game to prevent them from becoming P2W. We're in much the same situation here. You cannot reasonably upgrade you gear before the next patch, which will most likely drop in 5 weeks at the latest, without dropping obscene amounts of money in the game or getting extremely lucky with drops.
  12. Went from stage 10 true siren to stage 10 true pirate in one sitting. Took 4 elements of luck and 29~32 transmuted elements iirc.
  13. True Pirate Equipment Path

Tells someone to stop before they embarrass themself. Embarrasses themself. In before he tries to say it's shopped.

  15. I don't think this game is going to die. If it does I'll probably just focus on college while waiting for something else to catch my interest. Played TERA, left after genderlock central. Played the BDO beta, disappointed by both the beta and the responses by the NA/EU publishers with regards to complaints with the game made by the players. Best character customization ever, though.
