  1. To me this reads like an honest attempt to make a reboot HuntersRefuge that is better than the last. I will not judge it before I tried it out.

The upgrade event sounds fine too - It is a ridiculous amount of gear and it should not be available like a treasure pot where all you have to do is log in - take the gear from the first stages and try hard to overcome threshold points to unlock even more gear boosts. Sounds fun to me.

I will probably be stuck at TT/ET because I have no one to who knows how to raid them and Den might be challanging on my alt. But Den is a matter of skill and patience and not gear so it's fine to have it for a high stage of the gear cornucopia :D

  2. concerning the stats of the many new weapons and how to know which one you want/need:

There is a very important new feature: A gear progression scheme window that you can access from the inventory (it's one of the bottom buttons, next to Salvage etc). When you click that you will find overviews for all the different item slots, showing you how gear evolves and even some lower gear versions that do not evolve. It's all very nice and neat and I guess it's one of the reasons you do not find any gear spreadsheets on the internet any more: the game itself already does the job quite well! :)

Riftwalk and dawnforge are actually not dead ends. They can evolve to top tiers, and at certain crossroad points they can also "switch lane" and become raid type weapons like Raven and Aransu.

    1. I dont like that PvP quests are removed from dail challenge.

This way you discourage people to do PvP and also lower the number of arena participants. I dont see the reason for this since non-PvP-ers could have completed daily challenge by simply doing PvE.

    ^ this very much!

I certainly did not start out this way, but by now I am a casual PvP/6v6 player that mostly avoids PvE, especially anything that is time consuming and repetitive.

It is just boring to do the same instances over and over again.

Before the patch, the daily challenge allowed me to combine my passion for 1v1 and 6v6 and still earn a not insignificant amount of gold to help me with my 6v6 gearing, with nothing extra needed but a run to celestial basin. Now, it's like a major time investment that I would prefer to spend entirely differently, especially since the fastest way to complete the 3/4 stage is to do the easiest and most boring dungeons over and over again. Which is not really my idea of fun in a game. :(

I am sort of interested in the Fox pet set and the collection rewards, so I think I will put up with it for now, but I am already convinced I will pass on daily challenge completely after I got my foxes, and will never return.

Which in turn will make 6v6 even harder. :/

But I will still prefer playing 6v6 on silver rank forever to losing half my evenings' play time to boring PvE. :P

  4. I can confirm from personal testing that, at least when this gem came out years ago, it had a 30 second indirect cooldown. I say indirect because what actually happens is that it buffs your crit (by an overwhelming 40!) for 30 seconds and all this time the CC immunity cannot be triggered again.

I even still own one of them so could re-test, but I doubt NCSoft ever touched it. They just never made new types of them.

So now you would have to give up on some other gem with like AP 30+ ++ other stats just to use this.

All-in-all no KFM would go for it, as there's a ton of situations where auto-evasions cannot even trigger (you are in iframe, you are attacked from behind, you are already CC'ed, attack is def penetrating).

But out of interest, is anyone still using the old Stun rubies? I cannot remember ever seeing one in F2 in 6v6, though...

GRAND PHOENIX SET!! BRING IT BACK AND I WILL BURN MY MONEY!!

I must say, you guys have great taste! <3

My BM is wearing Transcendance, my DES is wearing Great General. =:3

Grand Phoenix is sitting in my inbox still, even though I paid tons of HM coin for it T_T. But I cannot chose the right character for it. Maybe I need to make another one. :/

As back to topic - yes please, bring back the Grand Empress! I was too broke to buy it when it came out!

  6. My current 6v6 spec actually has 896 AP, because I go 50 HM def and use debuff jewellery.  :P

57 AP is only 6% damage, that's all. People overemphasize it, because it's currently the closest thing to a general gear score. But the actual damage comes from all the extra effects.

This means that the only gems that matter are amber and obsidian, for the rest it's vanity whether you have hexa or higher.

For Souls, the basic AP are negligible compared to the burst effect, which actually gives a substantial increase (up to 650 AP for 12 seconds) combined with the very necessary focus regeneration.

KFM and BD = have to lure players for 1vs1 because they rely on CC chain combo to kill people. Can be easily disrupted on the 100-0% combo in a group fight.

A successful 6v6 KFM should not be luring people away for cosy 1v1s.  (O.O)'

Instead they should have a very successful 15 seconds amongst multiple enemies, staying 100% iframed and using Dynasty badge tremor and HM Z / comet strike / blue buff spam to bring down 2 or 3 enemies in those 15 seconds.

But I agree, NCWest policy is weird to upgrade the PvE weapon limits first before PvP weapons, also including other PvP gear. Korea has a PvP bracelet, better PvP SS and next PvP evolution too... <_<

  8. I think "iframe", even though too technical, stuck because it's short. Something like Bubble or Shield does no work well, as it implies no or slow mobility and medium long duration, while in B&S most invulnerability is highly transient, often lasting only fractions of sections.

Still I sometimes try to make a point not to use "iframe" for invulnerabilty effects that have a given duration in seconds, but only for those that are tied to an animation. In the community, they are often interchangeable, though.
