No need to be a butt. People download games to try them out and learn. Not everyone starts out as a master and things take time, especially MMO's with a bunch of grinding. I just started playing myself and recognize that my mechanics are not good because I am still learning myself. Negative comments like this is what fuels the paranoia of playing with better players, as OP referenced, and can deter people from joining games rather than encouraging more people to enjoy gameplay.

Hi, I recently just started playing the game after a friend got me to play. This is the first mmo I have actually played (I've even spent some nights playing for 12+ hours just to grind story ASAP) and I am looking for a clan to feel more involved in the game. I just finished the story and I'm lv 60 HM 15. My current attack power is 1257, though I'm not sure if that's decent for where I'm at or not.
