I don't know if there is a video that explains it all. Technically, the leader can disappear with all of the loot. However, that is very unlikely as they would probably get reported a bunch (if the raid was free bid) and that the loot needs to be sealed for them to sell it on the market or trade it. I have never seen that happen before. Sometimes, certain gear will be reserved in raids (either someone was already offered an upfront price about a particular item, or the leader is saving it for a friend). In all of the raids I have been in, no loot distributor has taken gold without giving out the item after. If you are worried about it, you could also screenshot the transactions and if they refuse to give you the item after a mutually agreed payment, you can report them and email support to see if they will give you a refund. For rolling, the max is 1-10,000. Any whole numbers in between will work. In raids it is usually 1-100 though. The loot distributor will tell you what the range will be, so I wouldn't worry about it.

In dungeons it is always a bid. In raids, the raid leader decides whether people will bid for the item or have a roll off. It differs depending on who the leader is. So its not just rolling, it can be either.

Solved the issue

I was doing the "Live Long and Prosper" quest on my Warlock, but it seems to be bugged. I was wall climbing up with Jinah(?) but my sprint ran out so I fell. I waited for the bar to fill back up and climbed again, but Old Man Cho was no where to be seen.
