  1. Wingrise... and no. Considering that Wingrise is Premonition and Songbird, you'll probably be better off using Limitless for now while earning those badges, then fusing them when you can.
  2. To answer your questions... First off, the two paths are Destruction (Fire) and Undertaker (Shadow). The main difference between the two is playstyle and how each does damage. Fire is very burst-oriented - it can do a lot of big damage right away, but it's short-lived, taking time for cooldowns to end in order to do it again. Shadow, while not reaching the same highs in DPS, has stable, mid-line damage. Shadow can't burst high like Fire, but doesn't have as much of a low point either. You can kind of think of it like a shotgun versus a machine gun - one hits hard, but is slow, while the other hits a lot at once for a long time, but none of the individual shots do a lot of stopping power. Between the two, while there is no wrong answer (honestly, play the one you like more), most gunslingers lean towards Fire, as most content won't survive too long past the initial burst with the right party. It's also easier to get through the story content, as you rarely need to use much to fight the enemies and, when it's time to kill a boss, bursting will just melt them. They're not designed to survive long. When it comes to progression, do all of the yellow story quests as far as they take you. After that, do all of the orange side-quests that unlock raids (and weekly challenges). All of these will give you the appropriate levels and equipment you'll need to start doing Daily and Weekly Challenges you'll need to begin upgrading your gear. You'll also want to gain access to Moon Refuge in order to farm moonlight buds for further upgrades. As for anything else... Youtube has plenty of guides... check them out.
  3. Hey all! So, I'm sure we've all seen the new update notes: https://www.bladeandsoul.com/en/news/steel-bonds-arrives-may-20/ One thing that caught my attention is that they're mentioning a "Premium Transformation Stone Crystal" as well as a non-premium version. I don't know about any of you, but... this kind of has me intrigued. Is this a new item they're adding... perhaps an untradeable version of the stones in the same vein as the upgradeable materials (IE: Soulstone to Soulstone Crystal)? Maybe it's just a mistake in the article, but still... boy, if this is an account-bound material that's cheaper and easier to obtain than what we currently have? Sign me up! But perhaps that's just me. What do you all think?
  4. Class balance is a mess in the game as it is... not just for PvP.
  5. If you're doing the event every day and with the free/1 NC 7 day premiums they've given us so far, you should be able to make up enough tokens. Remember that all of the dungeons that give remnants in the daily challenge still give those remnants every day regardless of if they're in DC or not. So doing as many dungeons from Drowning Deeps upwards as you can every day will net you quite a few remnants. Add to that doing weeklies, skybreak spire, temple of eluvium, throne of oblivion, ebon realm and even the pvp remnants, you're sitting on a lot of remnants. Now, of course you're probably not going to be able to convert ALL of that into coins (you need some for the keys), but that's still a lot to work with. And remember, we still have most of this month to finish the event. Still plenty of time to get more tokens and remnants. I mean, heck, just from the daily login bonus, I'm sitting on almost 40 tokens. I haven't even exchanged my remnants over yet.
  6. Unfortunately, you cannot get any of the badges that use the newer tokens (the pink or blue), so your best bet is to either get a badge for temporary use until you get Paragon or chuck the coin entirely and keep using the pink or blue badge I assume you have by now.
  7. So, here's a tip for CC... bring revitilizer pills. Using one gives you dragon blood, which is pretty much an extra life. They'll keep you alive longer and allow you to keep going. Take one at the beginning of the dungeon and one before the boss fight. As for the boss, all you REALLY need to know is to avoid his red attacks. Proper positioning and iframe skills will let you avoid those hits (and getting DoT damage stacks) placed on you. I've been running CC on my archer (who's using A9, since it's better overall than GC until you hit st 6) and I've had little to no problem joining and completing the dungeon every day.
  8. *sigh* Do you notice that, when you play as a Warden, you don't have a focus meter? No blue orbs or line that appears under your health and running stamina gauges? Did you read anything about Warden before choosing the character... even on the character creation screen? Because here's the thing... Wardens use HP to fuel their attacks as if it's focus! So yes, your HP will go down when you attack with your Warden... that is one of their primary mechanics. It's also why you have Resilience (the yellow shield icon that fills with your E skill if spec'd right).
  9. It would be... except you can just do 1v1 and you'll eventually get those 7 wins. There will be enough people trying to get their wins that it shouldn't be an issue to get your 7 either. At this point, getting a TT run and fishing will be the most annoying part I think... maybe the Ebon Blooms as well. Well, if you have the TT gear, that character probably won't need the event. An alt, however could use it... and I don't PvP either... but just spamming 1v1s until you get your 7 wins (then never going back) won't be overly difficult. All in all, this is a decent catch-up event if they've fixed the Den of the Ancients requirement.
  10. Sun Beam? It's probably be in your ranged stance (tab to change stances). You should also be able to check your skills with the K key.
  11. That specific spot is a bit buggy and doesn't always work right. It is doable with a little practice (and the right route), of course... But to answer the question, I would sincerely recommend doing your Windwalking quests as much as possible. Not only will some dungeons in the future require some of the skills, but they also simply allow you to get around the world easier.
  12. Honestly, if you're using Simple Mode for Warden, just ignore it and rapid-tap RMB to guarentee attacks go off. However, some moves can cancel your stance. Hitting Tab a second time, for example or dashing with Q will turn off the stance. Go over each skill in K and see what takes you out of Sentry stance and what doesn't.
  13. There are 5 colours of quest denoting 5 different quest types: YELLOW > Main storyline quests. Do these to progress, gain new equipment and the majority of your experience. BLUE > Side-quests. Not required to do at all, can be little diversions to do alongside the main questline. PURPLE > Skill quests. These will either teach you the basics of your class early on, then be used to teach/unlock new windwalking skills later on. Do these whenever possible! ORANGE > Raid questlines. These are side-stories that unlock weekly raids, such as Skybreak Spire, Temple of Elyuvium, etc. Some also give useful items, like hearts and talismans. RED > Player VS Player questlines. Commonly these are for factions. If you don't care about factions or PvP, you can skip it entirely. The three main questlines to look out for are Yellow, Purple and eventually Orange. You CAN do Blue quests if you want to (as they often flesh out the main story a little bit), but they are not necessary almost at all. Some blue quests open up optional areas or certain dungeons for Daily Challenge, however. And last, Red quests... if you're not doing faction PvP, they're completely unnecessary.
  14. You spoke to NPCs in Celestial Basin, which unlocked access to Moon Refuge (and the quests within). You should be able to access Moon Refuge now if you check the Solak map. An easy way to do so is to open your quest menu (J key), select the in-progress quest talking about Moon Refuge and click the "Track Quest" button. The map in the top-right corner of the screen will move to that map pointing out where the quest is. There should also be an activated Windstride point nearby. Click it to warp there when you want to go to Moon Refuge. For the most part, Celestial Basin has pretty much dried up for the most part and Moon Refuge is a newer farming spot that will get you better items overall. Think Celestial Basin 2.0.
  15. I think this'll be a pretty good explanation. You can see how fast Wind Gyre comes off cooldown thanks to Roundhouse and Cyclone Kick (your Simple Mode skills) lowering Wind Gyre's cooldown.
  16. Hey! Sorry for the long wait on the response. Been out literally all day and was not able to log onto BnS to give a good answer. The skill I couldn't remember to disable for Simple Mode on Wind KFM is Straight Jab (lmb normally). For some reason, they added it in for focus recovery, but disabling it allows you to use Roundhouse Kick and Cyclone Kick reliably and, with everything firing on all cylinders, you won't be losing focus anyways =p As for Wingrise, yeah, it's amazing. If you look up it up on Youtube, it should be getting you about a 200k increase and a much easier rotation. It pretty much keeps resetting Wind Gyre (V) whenever you need it, instantly sets up Searing Palm (X) every time you do and lets you use Comet Strike (4) 2 times, which casting Comet Strike gives you a Critical bonus. The rotation is somewhat the same: V>X>4>RMB (Simple Mode), but V comes off cooldown WAY faster, since Cyclone Kick lowers Wind Gyre's cooldown. I have not gotten the badge myself yet, but I've seen it in action and man... so nice =3
  17. Nice. I still need the new badge and ya, if you can get to near-constant Z uptime, that's big. I have A9 on my SF alt, but I might have to check this out when I get the new badge. It sounds awesome.
  18. I'll have to get back to you on the skill in a bit - I don't remember the name or command, but the next time I get on BnS (gonna be out all day), I'll add it. But ya, if you're going with Wind KFM, it's exceptionally easy to use their rotation w/ SM... and the Wingrise Badge for them makes it even nicer =3
  19. Hey, everyone! I thought I'd put this idea past you all, just to make a list. Maybe it'll be useful for players down the line. Either way, yes, we're going to talk about the dreaded... (gasp) Simple Mode. Now, generally speaking, Simple Mode is designed to do your basic bread-and-butter combo for you by holding RMB. It's essentially a mini-macro built into the game. While manual controls can be slightly stronger in most cases, there are some classes where it's not that big of a difference and ultimately, it's not a bad idea to use Simple Mode. For this reason, I thought I'd document a few characters that Simple Mode does indeed work for. However, since I don't know every class and every spec, I decided to open this up, so we can (hopefully) get a somewhat comprehensive list going. That way, we can say that X class with Y path is or is not recommended to use Simple Mode. And those who say "well no class should" and point to BnS Buddy or other outside programs... let's just focus on what tools the game provides for now. We can suggest those tools another time. For now, let's just go with Simple Mode or Manual for now. Anyways, with all that said, here's what classes I have found so far work with or without Simple Mode. Please leave information in the comments below and I'll try to edit this thread later on in order to expand it. ---THE CLASSES--- Blade Master -3rd Spec > Simple Mode Friendly (RMB + F spams nicely) Kung Fu Master -Wind > Simple Mode Friendly (although Straight Jab should be disabled to increase DPS) Blade Dancer -Lightning > Simple Mode Friendly (though it doesn't do X, C or V, your LMB combo is done reliably. Your RMB switches to LMB in SM if you're looking for it) Assassin -Lightning > Simple Mode Friendly Summoner -??(maybe both)?? >Simple Mode UNFRIENDLY (spams F inefficiently, large DPS loss) Warlock -??(maybe both)?? > Simple Mode UNFRIENDLY (does not use Drain Soul while in Soulburn, lowering DPS) Soul Fighter -Frost > Simple Mode Friendly (especially good now that Frost Storm is added to SM controls) Gunslinger -Fire > Simple Mode Friendly (I'd actually recommend Simple Mode for Fire Gunslinger as it's pretty useful for auto-using 3 whenever it comes up as well as doing the basic combat loop) Warden -Frost > Simple Mode Friendly (outside of Sentry stance, the basic sword combo works well enough. Still need to maintain V and 4 as best as you can) -Lightning > Simple Mode Friendly Archer -Wind > Simple Mode Friendly (actually pretty good! You'll be using most of the RMB combo regardless, using 3>4 or V and C in between. Pretty solid.) ---MORE TO COME--- As I said, I'll be editing this as I go on, so please add on wherever you can and I'll see what I can do.
  20. Ah, so you shouldn't at all use the raid weapon? I wasn't 100% sure. I'll definitely look into this at some point =p Still, a lot of this does rely on the new badge, does it not? Until our friend gets the new badge, it's at least good to know about the ranged stances (only) decent moves =p
  21. Depending on the emotes... 1) If you want to do emotes with your character, you can hold ctrl and alt together to bring up a bunch of emote commands. Clicking one will allow you to do the emote, while hovering over one will give you a list of keywords you can type in chat to trigger them. 2) For chat emoticons, you can click the button and you can click to add one to your chat messages... you can also use special "/" commands to do them as well (ie: type "/wink" to do the wink emoticon in chat)
  22. To add onto ImoutoMaster's information and to assist a little with some further information: 1) Right now, if you can earn up about 500 gold, there's an event currently that will let you buy cheap Divine Grace Stones. You're only limited to 5 per account, which is enough to fuse a badge. They cost 100 gold each (which is very cheap all things considered) and you can buy them from a merchant in Mushin's Tower (they are a Lyn name is Junsorei and they normally sell items for Koldrak Scales). In the second tab of things they sell, the first thing should be the 5 stones. So, if you have 500 gold, this would be a very good investment as soon as possible, since they will not be available after April 22nd. I should also point out that this NPC sells Riftdawn weapon chests for Naryu Silver. If you have not upgraded your weapon at all from story (meaning it's Riftwalk or Dawnforged stage 3) and you didn't get a lot of gem slots on it, going to see this NPC and attempting to buy more copies of that weapon until you get one with 7 or even 8 gem slots might not be a bad investment either (as Legendary Gem Hammers might cost you down the road... or you can just get one fully-slotted for some Naryu Silver) 2) ImoutoMaster has pointed out the badge for the frost path (2nd spec) Soul Fighter... just so you know. Honestly, I prefer it too, but that's your call. Both are fine. If you are doing the frost path, Simple Mode is actually pretty effective just like IM said. Simple Mode is essentially a pre-made macro the game put in. For most classes, you don't need to disable any skills to use it effectively and for SF, it does what you need. All you need to do is click on the button that says "SIMPLE" above the icon for your Right Mouse Button (RMB) to turn it on. You can turn it off by clicking it as well. Simple Mode cannot be used in the Hongmoon Training Room, so be warned. 3) Your basic rotation is pretty straightforward (made moreso with Simple Mode). When a fight begins, get in close (2 is an approach skill), then press Z, F and hold RMB. Simple Mode will take care of the combo for you, but essentially, you'll see that you'll do a special flurry of attacks and every time you gain 5 stacks of chi (the blue circles), V lights up and activates automatically. Additionally, you'll see anima stacks appear (yellow symbols appearing in a circle just to the right of the blue ones). Upon hitting 5 stacks of anima, you can press the left mouse button (LMB) to release it. While anima does increase defence, releasing it will lower Z's cooldown... and that flurry mode (and V skills) is a big part of your damage output. Now, when your Z is on cooldown, one of your best options to get a quick stack of chi/anima is to tab into your ranged stance. While it's generally weaker, it does have a nice little set of skills to use. Aim at a target and press V to do a beam of energy. You'll see that you'll get a bunch of chi stacks and at 5 stacks, F lights up. Press and hold F until it runs out, then swap back to melee stance with Tab and you can use V (or just hold RMB thanks to Simple Mode) to do another Frost Storm. Once you use this skill, it will go onto cooldown for a while. You'll be able to see on your screen when that cooldown runs out (you'll see a timer with that skills' icon). If it's on cooldown, you'll rarely want to be in ranged stance unless you're looking to do certain other skills. When your Z (melee stance) and V (ranged stance) are both on cooldown and there's nothing else you can do, just stay in melee stance and RMB. It's a basic combo, but it will slowly build up chi. X can also give 1 stack of chi too but it's rare you'll need it. All you're waiting for is times where your Z comes back up or when your V (ranged stance) comes up. That's pretty much the basics right there... well... maybe a bit more intermediate... but still. It SOUNDS more complicated than it ultimately is... and with a little practice, you'll be able to do it easily. Eventually, you'll need to worry about certain equipment giving you special buffs when using certain skills, but that's a LITTLE more advanced and you don't need to worry about it right away. Anyways, that's all you really need to know for now. Good luck! =3
  23. Hey, everyone! Maybe this is just my personal opinion, but how many people who played the game a few years back remember the game's original title theme? The song that played when the game started up was changed a while back, but I honestly kind of wish that we had the original song back. The current song is alright and all, but I always felt like the original song was a bit more thematic to the eastern inspirations this game uses. Additionally... the song is just beautiful and is used very effectively once more in the story (before the final battle at Heaven's Reach where your character awakens). Maybe it's just me, but what do you all think? Would it be nice hearing the old theme again on the loading screen? Feel free to leave your thoughts/opinions below. For those who've never heard it before, give it a listen.
  24. Oh boy... another day and so much to unpack... 1) 2k being "medium gear" and complaining about "credit card warriors". Considering that 2k ap is pretty close to end-game level AP and that most people who are 2k or higher have either played for a long time or swiped to get there, this comes off as a bit of a brag and a little hypocritical to boot. 2) Saying the game needs to be changed to cater to YOUR needs, while also dismissing alternatives from other people, (IE: Running hard mode or just soloing the dungeons) is extremely selfish and entitled. Even just suggesting they make additional functionality for dynamic difficulty adjustment, just because you refuse to up the difficulty on your own is pretty self-centered. However I'm not surprised of the entitled, self-centered attitude, considering that up to this point, you have: -Said you can make a better game -Said another game does it better -Refused other people's suggestions -Dismissed comments made against you -Tried to play the "I should have known" card 3) I said it before and I'll say it again - you have options. Actually take them. Solo the dungeon if you're such a "god of gaming". Post a hard mode dungeon recruitment. Recruit for lower-AP runs if you don't want "credit card warriors". Run a lower-ap ALT. Or, if GW2 is going to be the "superior game", go play that instead. Either way, making a forum post demanding the game should be harder, because you don't want to change it from "easy mode" is pathetic. You're either suggesting that the staff add in a dynamic difficulty adjustment when they already have manual ones in place or that newer players get pushed out even harder than they already are. BS gatekeeping from whales is already an issue in the game and you want to exacerbate it further, coming off as the same kind of elitist "credit card warrior" you claim to have problems with. So, to put it plainly... if you don't like it... don't play it. We're not changing things up for the sake of your entitlement. I expect your hand-waving dismissal soon. Oh, and on a side-note... I never asked you to "carry me" - nice to see you're capable of telling which person posts what.
  25. >bOsSeS aRe ToO eAsY! nErF tHeM1!1!1!one Also: >nObOdY dOeS hArD mOdE1!1!1!one Maybe if it's so easy for you, just solo the bosses... or try your hand at hard mode. Either one of these would be better than you complaining that easy mode is too easy. All this comes off as effectively is gatekeeping against newer, less experienced or lower-geared AP because you're "too good". If you'd like to rage about your "excellence" so much and that GW2 is so much better... maybe cut your losses and play GW2 then. lol "want the game to be better" - you literally were given alternatives and you ignored them. I love the dismissal here. If you "should have known" (because apparently you're a genius as well as a god of gaming), then maybe not post it in the first place?
