    "Throwing away" something in this game has been proven many times a bad thing. You never know one day, NCSoft suddenly wants to convert this or that into newer currencies cuz reasons, or just make them much valuable (like evolved stones).


    For example, those dudes who collect blue fragments and orbs, which are used for like nothing except subpar non-raid wewapon path and some gem transmutation, from day one, bidding 0-1g per item, are now swimming in onyx scale fragments.


    That's why players hoard things, hoping that old items may transform into something more useful and relevant.


    Anyway, I agree that these green stones need to be account bound, so that I can offload them to a mule alt. Just like bloodstone fragments :d

    Here is a fun things about summoner:


    -To make up for having cat tanking, Summoner has very unreliable escape/dodge skills to deal with solo bosses. Check the rant on long-range escape above. Other classes, while lacking something to tank for them, have an array of reliable kit to avoid attack. Heck, I would trade my cat for shorter cooldown of counter, or another reliable escape skill, or the ability to CC her on my sum without the cat. Let not talk about Warden. That class just outright negate all CCs.


    -Summoner is forced to use the cat during Ma'o. Sometimes, your counter will not recover fast enough to block a deadly CC of hers, which is homing at you so you cannot walk out of them, leave you a sitting-duck for next attack. So you need your cat to not eat bleed or trigger range check. Sure, you can SS/E/X or whatever for extra protection, but remember that you also need these long-cooldown skills to survive her mech. Let hope that your usage of these skills aren't overlapping with the moments when you really need them to save your hide.


    -If you think that summoner can just stay behind the boss and dps freely, prepare to eat at least 5 stack of bleed when she suddenly turns away from the cat and throw the disc at you. And mech phase, yeah, she ignores the cat and all out at you. Yeah, you have to learn her pattern, like every other classes, and adapt to her attacks without your own kit. No skipping.

    -Summoner's cat is very RNG. Sometimes, it refuses to respond to your command cuz it is busy spinning that giant hammer. I saw countless deaths just cuz it refuses to do its CC job properly. Thrall is the same. At least a Warlock can do some CC on his own. Summoner has every CC on its "so-reliable" cat.

    The Midnight Skypetal Plains event is for additional rewards to entice players to engage in this updated content.

    Is the MSP revamp we are going to get the MSP raid version with scale-up stats, or the MSP where it operates like a quest zone similar to Celestial Basin, like this video?

    Some people's PC is fast enough to relog within less than 5 minutes, but that is not the problem. 


    Since he already reaches boss 3, he already gets bound to that raid ID. If the leader doesn't want him back, the only thing he can do is resetting the raid to get free from raid ID.

    1) He is bound to third boss clear cuz the party already clears that boss. If he is seeking for a specific piece of gear on Boss 3 and have no luck with Scroll, then he is out of luck that week.


    2) Nothing stops the raid leader from recruiting his friend who needs boss 3 to fill the slot, or ignore his apply to party. I think he got ignored, or else he would not go here ranting.


    3) Some people think it is cool to have names with weird symbols, or very complicated name. If you don't have them add to friend list, good luck figuring out how to type their names manually with /join.


    Honestly, the whole thing with raid ID should be removed, at least for old raid like BT.

  5. I don't mind challenges if they are justified. I clear Master Hong and Ma'o after countless hours of wiping and learning. However, there are something that bugs me when attempts those solo contents:


    -All of these bosses have ranged check which deal heavy damage. Some ranged classes (Summoner and Warlock, to be more specific) have their escape skills that move away from bosses, which just trigger another ranged check. Unless you're fast enough to predict your own doom and turn your back against the boss so that your escape moves go behind the boss instead. "Out of the fire into the frying pan" is a good phrase for this situation: it ends badly, whether you use escape skills or not.


    -Master Hong and Ma'o can be proved very hard to clear with high-ping, unless you know the trick. Apparently, these bosses have a suction attack for their mech and you have to be quick with F roll + SS away in order to not eat punishment. However, some classes have very long-animation F roll (Summoner), and high-ping makes them unable to do F roll+SS successfully for half of the time, turning the fight into a RNG with server connection. There is a trick to deal with this, but since it is a trick, it may prove unsuccessful to pull off in future similar contents.


    -Long range escape moves again proves to be fatal. Some attacks have a cone shape which can be easily avoid by side-stepping at melee range. However, if you resort to use escape skills and move away from bosses, the situation becomes worse cuz you enter the bigger area of the cone, thus make it harder to avoid the attack.


    -Warden is a cheat class. These bosses are very deadly cuz of their CC, and Warden just outright ignore them. There are still a few dangerous attacks that need to be manually avoid, but for most of the time, Warden just shrug everything off. It takes my Summoner a lot of time to memorize and practice reaction against Ma'o. Meanwhile, my Warden can just waltz in clear her within 30 minutes of learning. Sure, I guess it is the class' privilege, but I feel it is super unfair.


    These things make solo contents more frustrating than hard, and reduce the usefulness of some classes' escape skills.


    What I can suggestion to improve quality of these contents are:


    -Make boss take a little longer before executing their ranged check so that players can have time move closer. Or just provide Summoner and WL with options for short range F roll and Tab escape.


    -Make Summoner's F roll land faster so that F roll + SS combo becomes more feasible for high-ping players. Remember that this region is in English language, so players who know English around the world tend to flock here.


    -Actually make it challenging for Warden too, instead of just letting them putting down Blade Ward and DPS without even moving.

  6. I have Awakened Tiger Soul Stage 1. After spending so much time in this game, I finally gather enough resources to be able to upgrade it to True Tiger. But I don't upgrade it, and let 80 oils sitting in my vault.


    Why? Cuz the tier of Tiger/Dragon is gonna be the past. You may have not heard anything about new tier, but if you play this game for a long time, you know Tiger/Dragon Soul has stayed for long enough and can expect a new tier soon.


    When a new tier appears, sooner or later, upgrade cost will be reduced in order to help players to access older tier with ease. It is a good thing, right? But it is also a bad thing for players who happen to have their gear upgraded when the life cycle of equipment comes to the end. Unless you upgrade your soul to the latest tier on day one, or at least in the middle of its life cycle, you will suffer from spending a lot of resources that should be saved for new tier instead. You can look at how many times people's rants whether an upgrade cost reduction happen. NCSoft can look at the increased number of tickets of asking to revert gear upgrade so that can enjoy cheaper costs too.


    That leading the paranoid of players who decide to hoard materials instead of upgrade in hope for cheaper costs. Playing a RPG means you want your characters grow in some kind of sense. In this game, you want to get stronger, deal more damage, stay alive longer, and it can be done through gear upgrade. But since players are scared of wasting materials for an upgrade that they should have waited for cheaper costs, they don't upgrade at all. Thus, they spends weeks or months staying at the same spot. Like I said above, you play RPG and enjoy seeing your character's growth. When they stop growing, either cuz you are at max gear and have nothing else to upgrade, or cuz you are afraid of cost reduction that can happen any time and stop upgrading on purpose, the game becomes gradually stale. You log in the game, looking at the gear at the end of its life cycle, wondering if you should upgrade, then you don't cuz it may get cheaper soon. How soon? Only NCWest knows. And until they upgrade cost reduction hits, your character simply stops growing.


    Yeah, it is rewarding if you wait, but at the same time, it becomes a race between either you get bored of the game first or the upgrade cost reduction hits first. The delay of awakening skill patch doesn't help either. I don't have any trust that we will have a "more polished" patch. More like they just want to delay it so that you won't be able to faceroll more recent dungeons, cuz it increases overall DPS of every class. Thanks to that, NA/EU becomes the last region who receives the upgrade. Even behind the younger regions like Thailand and Vietnam.


    There are a few things now I can grind for now. Prophecy Necklace from Dens of the Ancient, for example. I cleared M'ao in around 5 minutes. If I have my True Tiger upgrade, I would clear her faster. But then again, soul upgrade cost may get cheaper soon, so maybe it is better if I delay the upgrade for now. Then again, instead of farming now, maybe I should wait for upgrade cost to hit first, so that I can upgrade soul and clear her more efficiently. Then again...

  7. Or, let professions/clan crafting to be able to craft them in one way or other. These features are very neglected due to events/rng boxes keep giving away items with the same/better quality than crafted ones. Some give-away items are not even accessible outside of these sources. I don't remember the last time I have to craft revival/mass revival charms, since events keep giving them away. Or, even raid revival charms that are not craftable. Or those raid elixirs that can be only gotten through events/F10...


    Clan crafting receives nearly no update after Clan Outfits. The last thing added to clan crafting is HM Point Scrolls, which costs an arm and a leg. Maybe a few more Lyn tails too.


    So yeah, as NCSoft is trying to focus on Life Contents to get players' mind away from dungeon spam, maybe it is time to revise these features and make them more integrate to the game.


    Btw, do you know how Garena handles Psyche? Basically, psyche drops from dungeons/raids (normal mode too), and can be upgrade by tier (no RNG bullsh*t). Whale tiers, of course, costs a lot, but you can still get a more affordable tier where it still offers you some stats. While Garena's model is not exactly a grind-friendly model (you need to grind a lot still, just a different kind of grind), NCSoft can still learn something from it.


  8. I remember a survey sent by NCWest asking if players want Mount or Housing. Maybe they actually consider the options. Even so, everything is decided by NCSoft in South Korea. If KR players do not interest in those enough for NCSoft to consider the potential, then there is pretty much nothing we can do.

  9. My thought about Bns 2 on Mobile:


    -It must have control scheme much simple than BnS PC. You cannot hope fit 10 skill buttons + reaction skills on the small screen of smartphone/tablet like on PC. The solution is streamlining down the number of skills, plus the use of Simple Mode where you can just hold a button to execute a combo. It may even feature auto-questing for your convenience, so you just log in and let the game play itself for you.


    -BnS 2 boasts its more complex A.I. on enemies, where they will have different reactions depend on how players deal with them. While it sounds nice about "providing players with diverse combat experience", I think it is just a ploy to make your life hard and force you to whale. When you gear enough, then you can just one-two hit these mobs and ignore whatever the A.I. attempts to throw at you. How to gear up fast? Whale, of course, like every other mobile games. Think of ToI mobs: their A.I. are much more complicated to deal with compared to normal mobs, but you can just whale and kill them before they do anything funny.


    -I don't think BnS 2 will have fast-paced combat like BnS PC, which is what everyone loves. It is made to appeal to wider and more casual audience, so it should be slow and easy enough for them to join, and make them whale in order to have even easier experience.


    -And, of course, there is no place better for P2W, or Pay-to-Progress, whatever you call, than on a mobile game. Expect to have your wallet drains with usual Gacha, Dungeon resets, Exp Booster, etc.

    Mount, yeah, it certain doesn't fit this game when we already has Windwalk, which is a much cooler way to travel (we can run up on wall, tree like ninja, run on water surface...). Now if only they stop being stingy and gives us infinite Windwalk, as well as an auto-Windwalk button so that we don't tire out our finger...


    But housing? It fits us, like any other MMO. Remember Heaven's Reach where it is Cricket's Home? Why not let us collect for decoration to liven up the place? Zakhan's Blade mounted on the wall, a pool with suspicious tentacles cut from Numok, a plushie doll of M'ao... We can also use Professions to craft things like tables with Soul Warden, Flower vase with Silver Cauldron... Even better, you can only craft things like Amara's statue if you clear him in Hard Mode and  beat his challenge achievement. Then, you may invite people to your house, where they can see what you have achieved in this game with your collection.  Many, many ideas. Use your imagination!

  11. 1) Remove Aransu Prisms from 3-star. Raven Prism too, if any. And any other high-quality useless trash that no one wants. They are not good reward. No, they are the worst reward ever. Even more useless than those worst one-star rolls with two 10k exp charms. The only thing you can get from them is either 5m EXP charm, the HM point scroll (big deal whale item that is useless unless you have 5 of them, lol), and frustration for wasting a 3-star rolls. Increasing the rate of getting 3-star rolls is not the EXCUSE to add more 3-star trash. I only have a single 3-star out of 300 keys, and guess which kind of roll I got.


    2) We have "pity timer" for 2-star roll, where you accumulate points for 100% 2 or 3-star rolls. I think we should have another pity timer that based on the number of 2-3 star rolls, where it gives you 100% roll of 3-star roll. Assuming I spend an average of 30 keys to get a 100% 2-star roll, then when I spend an average of 150 keys, I should get a 100% 3-star rolls (require 5-10 2-star roll to get one 3-star). It will give a certain "goal" for people to spend more so that they can reach the prizes.


    3) The milestone bonus should be changed into Trove currency. There are a lot of undesirable items in milestone bonus this trove, so the feeling of reaching them is meh. It is better if I can spend my accumulated trove points on what I want instead. For example, when I reach 300 keys used, I should be able to choose between 60 legendary jewels (5 points each), or 3 Grand Celestial Steel (300 points for 3), or 3 piece of Boss Mode outfit (100 points each piece, if I remember it right). This way, players will not feel that some rewards are just fillers and have more freedom to get what they want.

    Mostly to fight bots and players who make profit from a massive number of low-level crafting/gathering alts, as well as adding incentives to pvp where most of non-bound mats (a.k.a precious moonstones) comes from.


    Also, bound mats make Trove become a proper gold sink. Your gold from buying bound mats just disappear into the void instead of allowing you gain some gold from selling them to the market.

  13. It would be convenient if you can open F3 (Friend List Window) and H (Clan Window) to see whatever online friends/clanmates you have at the moment. In addition, you should be able to directly invite/whisper to them too.


    For J (Quest Window), it is mainly to see the Completed Quest tab. Sometimes, after jumping between characters or away from PC for reasons, you forget which dungeons you have finished dailies and have no choice but return to your server/enter a dungeon to check if the quest has been completed or not. Some people are willing to quit a fully-assembled party the moment they see that they have completed the dungeon quests, thus making it hard for the remaining party to fill in his vacancy.

  14. Here is Silent Night outfit and its Hat that I got from the very first Frozen Firing Range event (this game's first X-mas event).




    As you can see, the event outfit cannot be mailed (or account-bound, whatever you want to call it), even up-to-date. And the hat is, for some reason, mail-able.


    Now, let try to see what they offer with Silent Night outfit bundle from F10




    The outfit is mail-able, while the hat is not.


    It seems they mix up the code somewhere between event Silent Night and F10 Silent Night.




    Another thing is that event Silent Night is the ONLY EVENT OUTFIT that cannot be mailed. When asking the question to Jonathan, he just said "It is intended by the developer's team".


    It is extremely inconsistent, cuz every single other event outfit can be mailed with stamps. There are also F10 outfits that become obtain-able during events , and they are still mailable, unlike Silent Night. If you don't believe it, check your stockpile of Bronze/Silver Dummy outfits and head adornments. You will surprise that some of them are in Hongmoon Store section, cuz they used to be F10-only until the current events offer them for free.




    This problem has persisted for two Christmas events, and continue to make through the third X-mas event.


    I wonder if it KILLS to just make Silent Night outfit being account-bound. And no, I will never spend a penny on extra version of the outfit that I grinded hard and sacrifice other prizes to earn.

    The Holy Bash outfit is designed with Chinese/Asian Mythical Lion theme, which was often seen on dancing lion costumes during Spring or something festive in Asia. This thing is definitely not something you expect as an Christmas outfit.

    Do you know why people can still LFG for a group on outdated dungeons like Avalanche Den, Lair of Frozen Fangs... despite that even fresh new players can just solo them?


    First key word: Cross-server LFG. It is more convenient to just LFG and get into these dungeons for daily challenges instead of going through several loading screen when you do them in-server.


    Second key word: group efforts. Even if they are outdated, doing them with a group is still faster and more fun than solo. Why do new players have to spend 10 minutes clearing them solo, while in a group can just down clear the whole dungeon within 3-4 minutes? Unless they want to hoard all rewards, of course, then that's their efforts to spend. Also, this is a MMORPG. Outside of challenging solo contents like Mushin's Tower, Outlaw's Island..., it should be more encouraged to join a group instead of solo a dungeon for grouping.


    Now check back to event dungeons like ToM. Outdated dungeons where mechanics can no longer hold a candle to normal DPS. Sure, if you are too low-geared or low level, you may want to pick a gun. However, if you get into a group with DPS, why don't you want them do full DPS and just clear the dungeons in a blink of eyes? There are no extra rewards for you to stay inside the dungeons for extra 30 seconds cuz of damage reduction.


    "Low-geared and low-level players will suffer". Nope. They are the ones who benefits the most from this change, lol.

  17. For example, Tower of Memories, Frozen Vipercap...


    These bosses have a hidden passive that reduce incoming damage by 50%, so your normal parse of 1m DPS will only deal 500k DPS on them.


    Before, when people's DPS was still very weak, this encouraged people to use the dungeon's provided items. After two years, many people are now geared up their DPS a lot, enough to ignore event items and just deal straight DPS despite of dealing half of the damage. When awakening skill patch is released, overall DPS will push up even further.


    Now, as most of people who are not just under-level and under-gear alts can out DPS whatever guns provide, I think it is time to remove the hidden damage reduction on event bosses, so that people can clear them much faster.  Even a character fresh out of stories would be able to deal like 50k DPS if there is no damage reduction.


    And know what? If it always more fun to kill boss with your own character's skills, instead of just picking up a gun and mindlessly spam LMB and some other buttons.

  18. It is like building a bridge over a small and shallow stream that you can just walk over it.


    You laugh at people who feel that there should be a bridge, saying it is unnecessary and it is people's fault for carelessly falling into the stream.


    The one day, you get careless and get yourself falling and wet. Then you realize that may be it is better to just have a bridge built instead.


    NPC quest-giver is the bridge that has not yet been built, the shallow stream is the quest, and falling into the steam means forgetting to take the quest. So yeah, instead of facing a risk of forgetting the quest, I prefer just to prevent it from happening instead.



  19. Familiars (Summoner's cat and Warlock's Thralls) should have their skills being able to disable.


    For Summoner's, the cat spams "Roundabout" for every third auto-attack it does. The thing is when the cat spins it hammer, its response to command input becomes much less responsive.


    For Warlock's, they have a choice between Nether Pulse (just do some damage) and Void Slash (air-launch). When a WL summon a Thrall, it will immediately use Nether Pulse, which an animation lock and makes Thrall refuse to respond to command (Soulburn, Stun), unless you waste an E to cancel its animation and put it in standby mode when it is now more willing to listen. You can opt out of this by go for Void Slash, but then Thrall will annoyingly air-launch CCed target, which maybe not a better solutions for some CC-sensitive cases.


    All of these skills are currently not being able to disable cuz they are Familiar skills.
