  1. For a Season of Giving event, it does not seem to be too terribly charitable to make it so players have no choice but to buy NCoin to enjoy all of the rewards from the event. I thought it was a really good move to include a 1 HMC option.
  2. I would personally prefer a new way to farm ES aside from more years of boring MSP farm, but I agree with the underling sentiment. MSP is just not worth running as it stands. Maybe in a six or so months power creep will make it more efficient to run again, but until then, double loot should be returned on Friday-Sunday at the very least.
  3. Adding Refined Honing Oils was a band-aid solution to there being few ways to farm oils in the game. I would personally prefer they just replace honing oils with evolved stones. That would allow people farming on multiple characters to benefit for their time while not penalizing players with less time from not being able to make the minimum amount of honing oils to max their oils every week. Perhaps leave honing oils as a way to farm pet packs as those are also more difficult to farm. As it is, the only way to regularly "farm" evolved stones is MSP which is so inefficient at the moment, almost no one does it. If they are unwilling to add more ways to farm evolved stones, I would hope they consider returning the double reward bonus to MSP on the weekends. Though I think the majority of the player base has more than had their fill of MSP and would welcome a new method of reliably farming evolved stones. Something to that effect might incentivize players unwilling to mass swipe for progression to return to the game. More players creates a livelier game making it more enticing to players that are willing to spend money. (Just saying the quarterly reports are showing BNS struggling in the west. It might be time to try a new business approach aside from gating progression behind a paywall or insane grind.)
  4. The other side of this is that the people that load into the instance are stuck waiting at 11/12 for the client of the person who crashed to disconnect. This can take 2-5 minutes sometimes which is not enjoyable for the people stuck waiting.
  5. I fail to see how this is a simple trade off, or how an equal number of players benefited and lost with the move. Even acknowledging unequal distribution of player base, with the coasts having the majority of player, the move only benefited players on the east coast while it hurt players from central to west. Even for players that did not see the physical distance to the new server change considerably (I am in that camp) the connection and stability is still worse. That just means less people happy with the state of the game. Less happy people results in less paying customers. There were quite a few people that quit with the servers being moved and still more that are taking a break from the game from lack of incentive to play when there is no new interesting content and the old content is less enjoyable to play with less stable connection. As such, the move was not a good long-term investment, even if it is cheaper to maintain the servers in the short term.
  6. Instead of adding mediocre bundles for trove, maybe consider buffing the rewards a bit. The only thing I spend HMC on for trove lately is cosmetics because the rates of everything else is so horrible. This time around there are not even cosmetics worth wasting time on :/ I mean, for the stream, the trove part was rigged to have the guaranteed crit pop after a couple keys and when it did pop and was crappo the streamers quickly moved on xD
  7. The Armory event starting next week is a gearing event that should include the gloves. I am guessing the details will be released today or early next week. It will also include other more important gear to worry about so I would just focus on the Armory event next week and worry about Mao after that. Mao will at that point be an "endgame" instance for farming IA Raid mats. (Also, as stated by Rmccn08, gloves are not a substantial boost to dps and there is a higher tier version out already that you could probably go straight to and ignore the Mao ones.)
  8. Considering the inconvenience of having a weapon skin take up limited inventory or bank space and the fact that weapons do not need to be illusions to be stored in F3, this appears to be more of an oversight to me.
  9. The standard way players get the legendary drops is by running the dungeon 100 times for the achievement, then simply buying the item with cores from the NPC merchant in Mushins Tower. It's not ideal, but it's better than only being able to achieve them in dungeon. Other games have low drop rates and then let players "roll the dice" to see who gets it. That's even more cancer in a sense because the "losers" don't get anything that way. It took me two years in another game to get an item I saw drop 12-15 times just because my rng was so bad. BNS has a lot of problems, but the loot system is not one of them (though the drop rates do suck). If they were to implement a "everyone gets a drop" kind of system, the rates would likely be even more abysmal. As for the issue with people not wanting to carry in F8, you can blame NCSoft for that. Dailies have barely even been worth running since they implemented "ez" mode. With reduced rewards and no incentive to do mechanics, "ez" mode dungeons are nothing but braindead dps for the most part. Shields on bosses WC and up have artificially inflated the dps required to burn them down. With no real incentive to do the dungeons let alone the mechanics, people are just going to want high dps for anything H0 and up to get the runs over with as fast as possible. When you start a game you work your way up. It's not about hitting lvl 60 then doing all of the content instantly. I came back after a long break and farmed IF through Drowning Deeps for a month straight because I did not have the gear to farm up to BC which was the brand new dungeon at that time. It sucks, but that's how it is when the developer chooses not to keep the starter gear withing a reasonable distance of endgame gear.
  10. I have noticed the same pattern for a while now and I think it can be attributed to NCSoft continually failing to meet the expectations of it's player base. The recent server location moved the server to a somewhat central location in NA to a location on the far east increasing the ping of more players than it lowered. They completely botched the handling of of the Moontide costume issue which while it probably helped to increase the player base initially and increase interest in the game, has since turned a lot of players away with NCSofts retaliation against it's community. "Events" which players relied on in the past to farm oils for gear progression have become more and more limiting with higher/less interesting (afk events) costs for less rewards. The only way to effectively farm oils outside of events is content that has been revamped three times now. This is supposed to be "Blade and Soul" not "Bland and rip you Soul out with MSP farm simulator." I am not complaining about revamping old content here and there to bring it to the current gear level like they are doing for Naryu Sanctum and potentially Nightshade Harbor, but continuously keeping one instance a core part of the game when it's already not exactly "fun" is excessive and lazy. New content has been/largely will be, nothing more but further stat padding. The new "Compound" system, the extra gems on pets, the unity system, it's all just an impossible grind to get players to fork out cash for the easy way out. They have further pushed players into a corner by reducing rewards from dungeons to fix their past mistakes with overzealous events (looking at the Hunters Refuge event) so there is less and less reason to run dungeons once you have farmed your 100 run achievement or farmed out your gear from the latest dungeon. Honestly the list can go on and in all fairness no company is capable of pleasing it's entire player base, but there has to be some sort of balance between keeping the players happy and keeping the investors happy, otherwise players leave, dungeon ques become empty, revenues drop, and no one wins.
  11. Please get your facts straight because this is simply not true.
  12. There had better be a fix for this or there are going to be a lot of people really pissed off. I already know of people that are leaving the game if the outfits that were obtained in past events/rng boxes that were removed with this patch are not restored. People had costumes they received 2 years ago removed this patch.
  13. In regards to "forcing people to pay* or quit." Non-paying customers fill ques and help keep the in game economy flowing. Who are people going to sell cash shop items to is there are no non-paying customers? You are also missing the middle ground people that are willing to spend a bit of cash for things like premium and cosmetics, but are not willing to fork out cash for progression. It's less work for the company to cater to people willing to drop cash on progression, but it's a short term solution to the long term problem of retaining both existing and new customers. If you don't keep the non-paying or convenience/cosmetic players, you can't support the pay to progress players. NCsoft should be doing something to make paying to progress feel more like a convenience rather than a necessity. The first point in that would be to add more (reasonable) ways to farm gems/powders, pet packs, and oils, which are the least accessible items currently.
  14. We do have outfits from other region contests. Asheborne is just one example.
  15. Best advise I can give is to work on positioning. Some attacks can be i-framed without receiving the bleed, the rest just require proper positioning which is not that different from learning to iframe things, just with a different mindset. The bleed is honestly not that bad. If you find yourself dying to it, try specing regen and/or debuff defense with your hongmoon points. I think I spent the better part of 8 hours learning how to clear this the first time. At worst, just ignore the bracelet for the time being and go back when you have more gear. It does not take much gear anymore to just burst through 50+ % of the fight with all the new gear that has been released since the dg came out two years ago.
  16. More like there should be an account wide bank tab.
  17. The initial honing oils are a system of the game, that does not mean it was a good system or that it should be applied all over either. The fact that it's being readjusted is a testament to why people should voice their opinions if they think a system is faulty. AFK fishing is a very large part of the currency for this event. If it were a small portion it would be less of an issue. That being said, it seems like BHS considers events as a "normal" source of oils in this game and balances around that. If you make a very undesirable event...people are just going to be further discouraged by the lack of oil availability and probably be less likely to bother logging in, which defeats the purpose of having an event in the first place. Nothing here is mandatory, but if you tighten the progression bottlenecks too tightly, you end up with a dead game. I mean, tight bottlenecks are probably a predominant reason why there is only one server now.
  18. The topic was discussed in fairly great detail last time...but allow me to offer a suggestion to make the event more enticing and worthwhile to log in for. I understand that there needs to be some sort of limit on the amount of currency a player can acquire each week for balance reasons and yada yada. That being said, can we just have something like a daily/weekly cap and allow players to get the same amount of currency while being able to choose between actually playing the game and afk'ing. Ignoring weeklies, players can currently get three currency from daily dungeons and seven from afk fishing for a total of ten currency each day. Why not make it so players can get a cap of ten daily, but allow players to choose between purchasing 10 currency with angler pearls or doing dailies with something like 2-3-5 currency for 2-5-7 dailies. I'm sorry, but I would rather play the game for events than afk fish, just a personal preference.
  19. Or just add an evolved stone to the 7th daily reward. Less MSP grind and rng.
  20. All runs have been pugs on this toon, from CC down and also including BT/VT/Throne. Breakthroughs are pretty easy with non-TT acc. at least just using the mats they gave in the first 3-4 boxes. Anyone having troubles pugging should try to get those gem slots opened up asap and at least upgrade to +3 even if you can't breakthrough. It just "looks" better for people doing a quick inspect.
  21. TT/ET are both extreme for new players to have any realistic hopes of, but the extraordinary remnants are not too big an issue imo. I have an alt with essentially only gear from the event thus far that is pulling enough to realistically do CC. I'm just doing CC on it each day to cover all the remnants. It will take multiple weekly instances to get all 12 chest anyway, so that strat. is fairly feasible. CC does not take that much gear to clear. The only real check is the mini-boss, but my partner and I were duoing that in TT gear when it came out anyways, so it should be more than feasible for a party with the event gear. (keeping in mind people should be smart about that and be leveling up the accessories as they go. Should have at least +3 TT ring/earring, neck, belt, glove, etc.)
  22. For anyone else wondering the same, it's Shift+F4. The option appears on your skills bar in the entrance/non-pvp zone. Otherwise it can be found in the hotkeys section of the options menu. The other confusing thing is the location of the entrance. It is not by the soulwardens guild area (In the market) as some might assume right away. It can be found East of the MSP portal.
  23. You also forget that not everyone is going to be playing at the exact same time. People playing the game span quite a few time zones and live diverse daily schedules. Some may only have time to play in the mornings and others in the evenings. Thus, it's not the best single parameter for measuring an active player base.
